Retinal Disorders
The part of the eye that sends visual messages to the brain is known as the retina. Disorders of the retina include disease of, injury, or damage to the retina, all of which affect the quality of vision. Some retinal disorders are serious enough to cause blindness. The most common retinal disorders are retinal detachment, retinoblastoma, retinopathy, Central Retinal Artery Occlusion (CRAO), Macular Degeneration (also known as Age-related Macular Degeneration or AMD), and Retinitis Pigmentosa.
