Cardiovascular Disorders

The cardiovascular system is composed of two main components: the heart or “cardio”; and the blood vessels or the “vascular” system. While these two components are closely integrated, any conditions involving the heart are referred to as cardiac diseases. One of the most common cardiac disease is heart failure. The conditions involving the blood vessels are known as vascular diseases (also known as vasculopathies). Some common vascular diseases are artherosclerosis and Peripheral Artery Disease (or PAD).
