Major Capers’ HBOT Experience
Strength, Resilience, and Healing through Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
“We completed our 40 dives, and I no longer even entertain doing knee replacements because my knees feel great.“
Major Jim Capers served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps, rising from humble beginnings in Bishopville, South Carolina. Raised on a farm, he went on to become one of the most respected and highly decorated Marines, serving in two wars and leading numerous combat missions. His service came at a tremendous cost, leaving him with severe physical injuries and lasting emotional trauma.
Improved Mobility and Strength
Despite severe leg injuries, Major Capers experienced better movement and increased flexibility. He was able to walk more comfortably and even navigate stairs with less assistance, showing noticeable improvements compared to when he first began therapy.
Pain Reduction
While he continues to live with embedded bullet fragments and long-term injuries, Major Capers reported a reduction in overall pain. Notably, he no longer feels the need to pursue knee replacement surgery, as his knees have improved significantly.
Enhanced Cognitive Clarity
Over the course of treatment, both Major Capers and those around him observed improved mental sharpness. He became more engaged, communicative, and alert, with measurable improvements seen in cognitive testing before and after therapy.
Support for PTSD and Emotional Health
HBOT helped ease some of the intensity of Major Capers’ PTSD symptoms. While the memories of combat remain, he expressed feeling better overall and more at peace following his treatments.
