Abstract The objective of this review is to systematically examine the effectiveness of neurofeedback therapy for managing anxiety and stress in adults living with a chronic illness. The specific objectives are to identify which neurofeedback...
The clinical implications of mean platelet volume and mean platelet volume/platelet count ratio in locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
Abstract: As a hallmark of platelet activation, mean platelet volume (MPV) has been identified to be associated with various malignancies. However, the correlation between MPV, mean platelet volume/platelet count ratio (MPR), and esophageal...
Therapeutic use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is neurodevelopment disorder, characterized by impairment in social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication and the presence of restricted and repetitive stereotyped behaviors. The condition manifests within the first 3 years of life and persists till adulthood. At present, the etiology of ASD is largely unknown, but genetic, environmental, immunological, and neurological factors are thought to play a role in the development of ASD. The prevalence of ASD has increased dramatically in the past few decades. According to current estimates from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as many as 1 in 91 children have ASD in USA.
Amputation predictors in diabetic foot ulcers treated with hyperbaric oxygen.
Abstract: Although hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has long been used for diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), its effectiveness is still controversial. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of HBOT in the management of DFUs and identify...
The Role of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Orthopedics and Rheumatological Diseases.
Abstract: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has been investigated as a primary/adjunctive treatment for a number of injuries and medical conditions including traumatic ischemia, necrotizing soft tissue injuries, non-healing ulcers and...
Chronic Diseases as Barriers to Oxygen Delivery: A Unifying Hypothesis of Tissue Reoxygenation Therapy.
Abstract: Modern medical practice has resulted in the accumulation of a growing number of incurable chronic diseases, many of which are inflammatory in nature. Inflammation establishes a hypoxic microenvironment within tissues, a condition of...

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as Adjuvant Treatment for Hardware-Related Infections in Neuromodulation.
Abstract: In neuromodulation therapies, hardware-related infections are a major challenge often leading to hardware removal. To investigate the role of adjuvant hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in hardware-related infections. Fourteen...
A Systematic Review of the Causes and Management of Ischaemic Stroke Caused by Nontissue Emboli.
Abstract: The inadvertent or purposeful introduction of foreign bodies or substances can lead to cerebral infarction if they embolize to the brain. Individual reports of these events are uncommon but may increase with the increased occurrences of...
